World Premiere of Manon Briand's LA TURBULENCE DES FLUIDES to open the 26th Montreal World Film Festival
Montreal, July 29th 2002. LA TURBULENCE DES FLUIDES, second feature film by Qu�bec director Manon Briand will be the opening film of the next MWFF on August 22nd. Serge Losique, president of the Festival stated : �I am very happy to find Canadian directors like Manon Briand who are able to be present more often in international film competition either here or abroad�. He recalls that 2 SECONDS, Manon Briand's former film got the Best first feature, Best Director and Public Awards at the MWFF in 1998�
LA TURBULENCE DES FLUIDES takes place in a small Quebec bay town where the tide has mysteriously stopped. When Alice, a Tokyo based seismologist, is sent to investigate the strange occurrence, she finds herself transported to a rich and strange universe where love, paranormal phenomena and fate all intertwine.
This film is a coproduction between Roger Frappier and Luc Vandal from Max-Films (Montr�al) and Pierre-Ange Le Pogam and Luc Besson from Europa Corp. (Paris) LA TURBULENCE DES FLUIDES stars PASCALE BUSSI�RES, JULIE GAYET, JEAN-NICOLAS VERREAULT and GENEVI�VE BUJOLD. Serge Losique �is pleased to welcome this recent collaboration between Roger Frappier and Luc Besson the �Speilberg of Europe� according to Mr. Losique. Those two producers are both internationnally reknown.
