The World Film Festival Broadcast over the Internet by TELUS!
Montreal, August 6, 2002TELUS is proud to announce its partnership in the 2002 World Film Festival. As a sponsor, TELUS will provide the bandwidth necessary to broadcast a feature film over the Internet site of the World Film Festival. This international premire will originate August 27 at 7:00 pm from the Muse d'Art Contemporain de Montral during a reception for the Montreal International Film Market.
The film that has been selected for viewing by Internet users is Home, by Montreal director Phyllis Katrapani. Produced by Jeannine Gagn and Phyllis Katrapani, Home is a poetic and philosophical reflection on how the word home fits into the imagination. Home is built around a series of fantasy sequences on the topic of ownership and belonging.
TELUS is delighted to participate in the twenty-sixth annual World Film Festival and is pleased to be able to contribute to the production of this major cinematographic event, which, after so many years, has become one of the planet's ranking cultural venues. TELUS's participation also serves as recognition of the Fesitval's desire to offer the public a unique opportunity to become acquainted with the Seventh Artthrough the power of the Internet.
The TELUS Corporation (T and TA on the Toronto Stock Exchange and TU on the New York Stock Exhcnage) is one of Canada's leaders in telecommunications, offering a full range of telecommunications products and services linking Canadians to the rest of the world.
