Synopsis
A political documentary thriller based on the first ever free elections in Tunisia after the "Arab Spring" revolution, as seen through the eyes of the protagonists of this historical event. The revolution is now just an echo, as impending changes will rapidly modify the country’s society, especially as the victory of Islamic political party EnNahda becomes more and more likely. Over a one-year period the film follows the creation, development and crisis of a newly born democracy, not only reflecting on the future of the Arab Spring but also on the future of contemporary democracy itself.
Director
Born in Toronto in 1983, Jaime Otera studied business and cinema in Spain and the US before launching his career in filmmaking in 2008 with a short, The Box, and a music video, Lluvia. In 2009 he directed Nano Caste - The New Indian Middle Class, followed by VAMPIRE IN THE HOLE (2011), VULNERABLE (2011), Bagpipes, Giraffes and Pines (2011) and Trinta Lumes (2013).
