As a career boost, Hannah, a young German woman, goes to Israel to work in a home for mentally and physically handicapped people. Well-meaning and eager to prove herself, she is a bit taken aback by the brusque, informal attitude of Itay, the Israel social worker who is her liaison. He baits Hannah with Holocaust jokes and comments on German history, all the while openly flirting with her. Initially offended, she slowly begins to become more interested in both German history and the history of her own family. Not to mention the man who set her onto this past of self-discovery.

Born in Berlin, Germany in 1976, Julia von Heinz studied digital media design and cinematography before becoming a scriptwriter and apprenticing as an assistant director on various productions. She made her directorial debut in 2001 with Dienstag. Subsequent films include: Doris (2002), Lucie & Vera (2003), Nothing Else Matters (2007), TWO LIVES IN GERMANY (2011), HANNI & HANNI 2 (2011).
