Synopsis
Lily was a young woman when she moved in with her much older boyfriend and became a mother figure to his two sons. She was only 31 when she was diagnosed with cancer and began the fight for her life. This film opens as she begins the end of her aggressive cancer treatment, and suddenly finds herself reexamining her past and future. She soon finds that beating cancer was not nearly the end of her struggle, and that her new found clarity forces her to see things she was not willing to face, and to confront the possible changes which accompany them. A mature, stylish character piece reminiscent of classic French New Wave.
Director
Matt Creed is a New York City filmmaker and artist. His childhood was spent in transit from Toronto, to Ohio, Los Angeles, and eventually New York. With a background in painting, and no formal film training, he began directing shorts and music videos. His debut feature, LILY premiered to excellent notices at the Tribeca Festival in April.
