Synopsis
Germany legalized prostitution over 10 years ago and now has one of the most liberal prostitution laws in the world. Over the course of ten years, it has become a destination for sex tourists from all over the world, including North America and Asia. But who profits from this development and how does legalized prostitution change a society? This documentary tries to answer these questions through interviews with prostitutes, brothel owners, pimps, johns and government tax officials, who speak candidly to the camera.
Directors
Sonia Kennebeck is an independent documentary filmmaker and investigative journalist, who works for the ARD German TV network and CNN. Tina Soliman is a broadcast journalist, documentary filmmaker and book author. She has directed numerous documentaries for ARD and ZDF and received multiple awards for her work, including Amnesty International’s Human Rights Award.
