Congratulations on the 30^th anniversary of your festival. The Montreal World Film Festival has always been a festival for German films as well ever since it was founded. For many of my colleagues and also for me personally, the Montreal World Film Festival was the door to the world. Nowhere else have I experienced more inquisitiveness and open-mindedness in the discussions with my colleagues from the area and also the public.

I wish film-makers all over the world that the Montr�al Film Festival may be there for all of us for a long time to come.
