EIJI OKUDA Japon / Japan Congratulations on the 30th anniversary of the Montreal World Film Festival. The first time I attended the Festival was with the film Mt.Aso's Passions, directed by Kei Kumai in 1990. I acted as the main character in this film and the festival had given me a very warm welcome. The pleasure was all the more, when this film received the Best Artistic Contribution. Years later, I attended the festival again with my first directorial feature film Shoujyo - an adolescent in 2001. Unfortunately , I could not attend the festival because of my work in Japan as an actor. However the screenings were full and with the warm support of the festival, there was additional screening. I still regret about not being able to feel the passionate glance of the audience and to exchange their opinions at the festival. I am looking forward to taking my new film to my favourite, beautiful city, Montreal, and the place where the real film lovers are. With great respect to president Serge Losique Eiji Okuda Invité du festival en 1990 comme comédien dans le film / Festival guest in 1990 as actor in the film:
