Synopsis
The war in the Balkans is over and Shkëmb returns home a hero for having saved the local population during the conflict. But over time his sacrifice is forgotten and things begin to change. He continues to live in a tent donated by humanitarian organizations. He is disillusioned by the way a small group of political and business careerists have usurped his ideals to gain money and control. He is suffering from an incurable syndrome, that of a principled but frustrated warrior in peacetime.
Director
Born in Prizren, Kosovo, in 1979, Luan Kryeziu is a graduate of the Art Academy of Kosovo, where he studied acting and stage directing, later doing postgraduate work in film direction. THE HERO is his directorial debut in features.
