Synopsis
Itzo, in his mid-thirties, drives a special ambulance called a "corpse-car". His job is to pick up the bodies of the recently deceased and transport them to the morgue. Mimmy, an eager young woman at the morgue, likes Itzo, but he doesn’t pay much attention to her. Instead, he is in love with Katya, an attractive 40-year-old. Katya humiliates Itzo and uses him, but it doesn't change his feelings for her. He loves her unconditionally. The same way he loved his mother, even when she mistreated him. But Katya turns out to be a mistress of the mafia boss Rocco, who beats her regularly. Itzo doesn't interfere. Even after he witnesses her rape at Rocco's hands. But Itzo’s assistant, Buddy, a tough-talking Roma, convinces Itzo that real men deal with life problems by administering justice themselves. Itzo decides to rescue Katya from Rocco along with her 14-year old son Mario, and free the world from a villain. But fate has some surprises.

Born in Sofia, Bulgaria in 1986, Dimitar Dimitrov graduated from the Bulgarian National Film School in 2010 and the Met Film School in London in 2012. He founded Dudu Pictures, an independent production company. His filmography includes shorts and TV series, including Borderline (2008), Playing Marbles (2009), Autopsy Room (2010), Short Stop on the Way (2012), Mulberry Walk (2013), shown widely at international festivals. CORPSE COLLECTOR marks his debut in features.
