Synopsis

Koktebel, a resort in southeastern Crimea, -- “land of the blue hills” in Crimean Tatar -- is best known for its literary associations. A favourite vacation spot of writers before and after the Russian Revolution, it is where the Russian poet Maximilian Voloshin had his residence, where he entertained many distinguished guests, including Marina Tsvetayeva, Osip Mandelstam, and Andrey Bely (who died there). They all wrote memorable poems in Koktebel.

Director

Russian documentary filmmaker and actor Andrey Osipov was born in Siberia in 1960 and graduated from the Odessa Polytechnic Institute. Winner of the Nika award in 2001 and 2004, his works have been shown in festivals around the world, among them: Voices (1997), Driven By the Wind (1999), Hunt for an Angel (2002), Passion for Marina (2004), Save and Protect (2013).
