Synopsis
For four days, the legendary Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein was turned into a music laboratory and sound studio for Chinese pianist Lang Lang, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Nikolaus Harnoncourt. Christian Berger and his crew observed the artists during the recording sessions, the preparations of both soloist and conductor, the orchestral rehearsals and the recordings, as well as listening in the control room and eavesdropping on the artists’ discussions. An exclusive look behind the scenes of the music industry - informative, entertaining, and with Mozart's outstanding music.
Director
Journalist and editor at Deutsche Welle in Germany, Christian Berger graduated from Berlin Technical University and was writer and editor on music documentaries, before directing his own. MISSION MOZART is the fourth feature in a series. The others: THE BEETHOVEN PROJECT (2010), Schumann at Pier2 (2012), THE HIGHEST LEVEL (2013), shown at the MWFF.
