Synopsis
Tuo He, an old rafter on the Yellow River, is very unhappy to learn that his only son Tuo Gao has chosen to work at the newly developed scenic park instead of succeeding him as a rafter. Besides, the traditional business of goatskin rafts is seriously affected by modern steam ferries. Tuo He blames all this on Wang Shan, the developer of the scenic park. What depresses him even more is that Tuo Gao has fallen in love with Wang Shan’s daughter, Xiaomei. The clash between the new and the old has now become a conflict of generations.
Director
Chinese screenwriter and director Li Jide works for the August First Film Studio. His directing credits includes BITTER LOVE (2013), official selection of the 16th Shanghai International Film Festival and Best New Film prize of the 2013 Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival.
