Synopsis
Fifteen-year-old Pouria is a close friend of one of the neighbours, Danial. When something tragic happens to Danial, frightened Pouria feels guilty. So he decides not to reveal their secret to the others. --“In the beginning of 2014, as there was no producer willing to make a children’s film, I decided to produce and direct THE PROMISE by myself. With a tight budget, a small crew and cast, we finished the shoot in just 26 days. The result is a small, simple, poetic film just like my previous films. It won 6 awards including best picture at the Isfahan IFestival of Films for Children and Young Adults.” -- Mohammad Ali Talebi
Director
Born in 1958, Mohammad Ali Talebi graduated in cinema and TV from the College of Dramatic Arts and began making educational programs for television. His directorial debut, CITY OF MICE (1985), was a box office hit, and he came to international attention with THE BOOT (1992), a prizewinner at the San Franciso International Festival. He has a dozen features to his credit.
