Synopsis
A bitter comedy, a fantastical love poem and a tense drama. A story freely inspired by the life of the celebrated Czech photographer, Jan Saudek, a man blessed with exceptional artistic talents and great passion. These attributes brought him fame as well as rejection, love as well as betrayal, moments of adulation as well as periods of loneliness. The focus of Jan’s life was always women. Those who paraded and posed for his camera (a very wide variety!), or those who gathered around him in his private life; daughters, wives, lovers, sexual friends, intellectual admirers. Some selflessly loyal and loving, others cheated on and jilted... no one unmoved.
Director
Czech filmmaker Irena Pavlaskova (b. 1960, Frýdek-Místek, Czechoslovakia) graduated from FAMU, the celebrated Prague film school.
