Synopsis
Early 1970s, Turkey. Born to actor parents, Deniz rebels against her father’s obsessively controlling nature by throwing herself into a life full of drugs, sex and partying. This self-destructive hedonism takes its toll and Deniz end ups in the hospital. Drained and alone she is finally forced to confront the demons of the past. With each new drawer that she pries open, crippling memories spring out. Will she sink under their weight or survive?
Directors
Caner Alper began his career in theatre, as an actor and director, then wrote for magazines and published his own stories. Mehmet Binay studied political science in Germany and has worked in German TV. Together they’ve directed several short films and ZENNE DANCER, shown at the 2012 Montreal World Film Festival. DRAWERS won best film and best actress at the Nuremberg Festival.
