Synopsis
Roshan Basti (aka, town of light) was once a lively place where everyone led a peaceful and prosperous life. Every year, the inhabitants would get together and celebrate spring through singing and dancing. But one year, the festivities were cut short when Mangu is caught kidnapping a little girl. He escapes into a tunnel inhabited by a witch doctor who gives Mangu evil powers which he uses to control Roshan Basti. It soon becomes Andher Basti (town of darkness), ruled by terror and extortion. Is there anyone who can rescue the town from its misery?
Director
Pakistani filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy is an award-winning documentarist specializing in human rights subjects. In 2012 she founded SOC Films, an independent production house. Among her many credits: Saving Face (2012, Oscar for best documentary short), Ho Yaqeen (TV series, 2012) and SONG OF LAHORE (2015). 3 BRAVES is Pakistan’s first animated feature.
