Synopsis
Every weekend, Belyn and her son Popoy come into town from the rice fields. They head towards Manang Martha’s house where Belyn works as a washerwoman. The long walk to the big house has been part of their routine. However, everything changes when Popoy is asked one day to come over to house for an interrogation. Her daughter’s golden watch is missing and the town “seer” claims that Popoy stole it. Worse: the same seer includes Belyn in the crime. And Belyn’s attempts to exonerate her son are crimes in themselves. In a system of manipulated lies, the truth may be irrelevant.
Director
Philippines filmmaker Zig Dulay graduated in communications and journalism from the University of the Philippines. He began his career with a feature, THE LAST KISS, in 2011, and has written screenplays for several others. Among his directorial credits: Missing (2013) and M. MOTHER’S MAIDEN NAME (2013).
