Synopsis
Trying once again to withdraw from heroin, Sin thinks getting away from cold, grey Frankfurt to a Greek island might help. She gets the needed money by selling blank prescriptions stolen from her father’s doctor’s office. Separated from her boyfriend Leon, she tries to persuade Illy, a young prostitute who was dropped by her pimp, to come along for the ride. Looking for Illy’s passport, they end up at a campsite for RVs near the airport. That’s where Illy’s alcoholic mother lives. Greece is more than just a physical destination.
Director
Maria Hengge was born in Chicago, grew up in Munich, trained as an actress at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna and studied screenwriting at the Babelsberg University for Film in Berlin. She made her directorial debut in film in 2008 with The Last Bus, shown at over 30 international festivals. SIN & ILLY STILL ALIVE is her first feature.
