Synopsis
One night in April 1957. Albertine, 19, jumps from the wall of the prison where she is serving a sentence for robbery. In the fall, she breaks the bones of her foot: the astragal. She is rescued by Julien, a convict, who takes her and hides her with a friend in Paris. While he leads his criminal life in the country, she learns to walk in the capital. Julien is arrested and imprisoned. Alone and wanted by the police, she prostitutes herself to survive, struggling mightily for her fragile freedom and to tolerate the painful absence of Julien ...

Actress and filmmaker, Brigitte Sy made her film debut in Daniel Duval’s LA DÉROBADE (1979) with Miou-Miou, before becoming the muse of her companion, director Philippe Garrel, for whom she played in numerous films. For a decade she conducted theatre workshops in prisons and she directed her first short film, L’endroit idéal in 2009, followed by LES MAINS LIBRES (2010).
